Dear JBF Family,
We hope you have enjoyed our outdoor. Now that it is getting hotter outside, we are moving worship service indoors this upcoming Sunday, July 5 at 10:15 a.m.
In order to provide better safety we are:
- Limiting our service to 45 minutes and our singing to 3 songs
- Not passing out bulletins or passing an offering plate
- Not offering coffee or snacks
- Roping off chairs to help maintain social distance
- Providing hand sanitizer in stations throughout the building
Below are some things we would like you to keep in mind when joining us and are recommendations from our insurance company, Church Mutual:
- When you arrive please move immediately from outdoors to your seating in order to maintain social distancing
- After the service, if you would like to fellowship please consider doing so outside the building
- We will not be passing anything around. Bulletins: We will not be providing these. You can find out information on our website and Facebook. Communion: When we celebrate communion we will have pre-packaged juice and wafer for your safety. Fellowship: For now we will not be providing any coffee or treats. Offering plate: We will have two drop boxes at the back of the family life center. Reminder you can also donate through our website, via text, 319-330-3161 or by mail, PO Box 268, Jesup IA 50648.
- We will not have Sunday school, children’s church or nursery available. We are sorry for any inconvenience.
- We encourage you to bring your own mask. If you forget yours we do have limited supply on hand.
- We encourage those who have symptoms or vulnerabilities not to attend.
We will continue to post our messages to YouTube for those who are unable to attend and we are considering live streaming our message.

Our outdoor services begin this weekend! You choose how you want to worship... in lawn chairs, in your car as a drive in service, or catch the sermon online later Sunday afternoon on Facebook or our YouTube channel. Please respect people’s needs for social distancing because you may not be aware of health issues or life situations where that person needs to be extra careful.
Singing: C-19 tends to spread through the air, so if you are going to sing along please spread out and be extra careful (we will be emailing song sheets for your use if you like)

JBF Family: We are looking forward to seeing you soon for our outdoor worship @ 10:15 am on Sunday, June 7! Tonight our men's group will meet at 6 pm and break in our new grill.
As we start getting back to JBF we do want to make sure you are aware of a couple of things so we can ensure your safety and be respectful of others. Our custodial staff did an awesome job of cleaning all surfaces etc. earlier this week. With this in mind we are limiting building usage to Sunday and Wednesday only which will allow 72 hours between use in accordance with CDC guidelines.
We ask that the nursery and any games, toys, etc. not be used at all until further notice. If you want to use the building you will need to ask 48 hours in advance by contacting Wendy via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) and she will correspond with the deacons/elders to get you access.
All rooms not to be used during this time have been marked off with blue painters tape for now. Only the main bathrooms are to be used until further notice (so keep this in mind on Sundays when here for outdoor worship). We will open up room 145/147 when women's group starts back up and room 123/125/127 will be used by the men's group. The kitchen is open for the men's grill out tonight. If your group needs to use the kitchen please let us know so our custodial staff is aware.
Thanks for being respectful of others; we are always better together than apart.

Let’s gather together safely… As of right now, this means we
hope to reopen with outdoor worship services starting Sunday, June 7. We are
still ironing out the details of what this worship will look like; we see some
sitting in their cars listening from their FM radio while others relax in their
lawn chairs, all while practicing social distancing. We are not taking your
safety and concerns lightly. We know some are eager to get back to worship
while others are apprehensive due to your own vulnerabilities. You do what is
best for you and we look forward to seeing you when you are able to join us
again. The plan is to still provide an online service; you will not be left
out. Stay tuned for more details.

On Monday, in her daily COVID-19 briefing, Governor Reynolds lifted restrictions on religious gatherings as long as churches implement social distancing guidelines and increase sanitary cleaning. What does that mean for JBF? Your safety is important and we want to take time to prepare and be ready for you. Things will be different than they were before COVID-19; we just are not sure how different at this time. Please keep joining us online and check out various posts on Facebook and our YouTube channel. Thanks all and hope to see you soon.

Dear Friends of JBF,
I am assuming you are aware that the CDC has made a recommendation that people not gather in groups over 50 people. Because of that recommendation, Jesup Bible Fellowship will suspend Sunday services until further notice. The CDC has recommended an eight week suspension and Iowa Dept of Health has recommended four weeks. The elders are in the process of discussion and we will keep you informed as the situation develops.
We aren’t suspending our Sunday services out of fear but out of love. There isn’t a sense of panic because we serve a great and mighty God. We do want to protect people and by limiting people’s contact with each other we decrease the risk of spreading infection.
The leaders of JBF are discussing ways in which we can continue to minister to people physically, emotionally and spiritually. The church has been a source of hope and love to people throughout history—especially during difficult times. Our goal is to continue to be hope and love for people. We will need to take creative approaches to our mission to love God, love people and share the Good News of Jesus. Please be in prayer for us as we seek God for direction. If you have ideas or are willing to serve please let us know.
